Meranti
Meranti is an easy to work timber that varies in colour, from light pink to deep red. Featuring a coarse, even texture and an interlocked grain, this material has a great overall hardness and a stable strength.
Meranti varies in durability but offers good strength and hardness overall, providing additional resistance to decay and insect attack. Responds reasonably well to glues, nails and screws. Machines and finishes well.
With a pale red/pinkish colour, Meranti is an attractive wood with many uses.
